Parabel carried out the complete refurbishment of the asbestos-containing roofs at zero cost to the owner, thereby increasing the long-term value of the properties. In return, the owner has made its roof areas available to the different project companies specifically established for each of the properties for the purpose of generating solar energy.
The roof areas will be surrendered for an initial period of 20 years with the option of two five year extensions. Subsequent to the asbestos removal, the roofs were covered with trapezoidal sheet metal and DMEGC, Hareon and Trina modules were installed. Siemens Sinvert PVM inverters were utilised in all of the projects.
The majority of the PV systems, three of which are located in the Ostprignitz-Ruppin district, one in the Havelland district and one in the Elbe-Elster district, have already been sold to a private investor. The systems will be managed by Parabel via its subsidiary PlanE GmbH.
"2011 has been rounded off with another fine example of our successful solar roof refurbishment model, carried out to our customary high quality standards," says Parabel project manager Falk Röder. "Completion of the five projects has increased our portfolio in this segment to over 14 MW."
In the year 2012, aside from extensions of the systems just completed, Parabel has various new projects in the pipeline.
