Poindexter Nut selected Cenergy Power to design and construct the massive system based on Cenergy's track record for best value and solar engineering know-how in the food industry.

The system is optimized to generate over 1.7 million kilowatt hours (kWh) of clean solar power annually, which will offset over 65% of the new facility's energy consumption. It will span across 115,000 square feet of roof space and cover over 15,000 square feet of employee parking spaces as shade structures.

"This solar project is a great example of our company's ongoing commitment to sustainable business practices and we are excited to partner with Cenergy power on this," says Mike Poindexter, Principal at Poindexter Nut. "The solar shade structures being erected in our employee parking area provide an added benefit for our dedicated workers during the hot summer months."

It is estimated that over the next 25 years, Poindexter's solar generation will save the plant $6,000,000 in energy costs and will be equivalent to removing 5,700 vehicles off the road.
