PV Cycle, Europe’s only fully operational, collective take-back and recycling scheme for end-of-life (EOL) photovoltaic (PV) modules, will participate for the third time with a booth in Solarexpo. Solarexpo is one of the leading renewable energy fairs in Europe and will take place from May 9 – 11, 2012 in Verona, Italy.

The PV Cycle booth, located in hall 4 at stand A2.2, will provide our numerous network partners, members as well as potential new members the opportunity to meet PV Cycle staff and to discover the advantages of our national and pan-European take-back and recycling scheme. Additionally, PV Cycle will present its waste treatment solutions at the 2nd International Workshop on EOL, Disposal and Recycling of PV Plants, taking place on May 10th from 2.30 to 6.30 pm. This year’s workshop will focus on the implementation of the recast WEEE requirements in Italy.

With nearly 80 collection points – certified network partners collecting small quantities of EOL PV modules – and 26 members, Italy represents one of the most important countries for PV Cycle’s activities. Since beginning of our operations in June 2010, approximately 500 tonnes of EOL PV modules have been collected in Italy. Furthermore, PV Cycle registered a steep increase in our Italian partner network, welcoming some 30 new collection points in the first four months of 2012 alone.

Operational in all EU27 and EFTA countries, PV Cycle represents approximately 90 percent of the European PV market and has become the leading take-back scheme for EOL PV modules in Italy and elsewhere. With its dedicated collection and recycling services, PV Cycle offers efficient and sustainable EOL solutions that are tailored to the real needs of the PV industry.
