The PV Power Plants – EU conference will explore the state of the promising PV markets in Eastern Europe. A particular focus will be set on Poland. The event will take place on 14 and 15 March 2013 in Warsaw, Poland. The conference language will be English. Poland is currently debating the introduction of a feed-in tariff.
According to the new Minister for Economic Affairs and the new Deputy Minister for Economic Affairs the Renewable Energy law will be adopted by the Government until the end of March and the parliamentary legislative procedure will be initiated. However falling system prices are also driving growth of the solar market in other countries such as the Ukraine and Romania.
For example, Romania is aiming to have around 1,500 MW of photovoltaic power installed by the end of 2016; at the close of 2012 the figure was around 100 megawatts. The event will provide a comprehensive overview of the Polish solar market and the legal, technical and tax situations, and will also look at opportunities for project financing.
Industry experts such as David Wortmann, senior advisor at Belectric Solarkraftwerke GmbH, Christian Schnell (DMS), Piotr Rudyszyn (W4E Centrum Energii Wiatrowej), Florian Edler (Enerparc) and Konrad Klimek (SolarTech Invest) will talk about their experiences and present examples of best practice. In addition, a spotlight will be thrown over the PV markets in the Ukraine, Romania, Italy and Turkey.
In another item on the program, participants will receive expert input on the most recent developments in the fields levelized cost of energy (LCOE) and balance of system (BOS), bankability and quality assurance, energy storage and grid integration. Participants from international module, cell and component manufacturers, the supply industry, grid operation and energy utilities, project development, design, installation, insurance, investment management and law firms are expected.
The event will provide ample opportunities for networking and discussion. PV Power Plants – EU 2013 is being organized by Solarpraxis, one of the leading knowledge providers in the renewable energy sector, which annually organises around 20 conferences and expert workshops. At the end of the event, the "PV Power Plants" market overview will be published.
