Q3 Energie at Intersolar Europe: Customised fireman’s switches and connection technology

Share

Especially in times of rapid expansion of renewable energies, the area of safety and thus fire protection – especially in public buildings and industry – is the subject of heated debate. Here, planners and installers are faced with great challenges, because the safety of people is of crucial importance. In addition to a building fire, there are a variety of situations in which it becomes necessary to disconnect the photovoltaic system from the power grid, e.g:

– emergency evacuation of a building (e.g. school, kindergarten).
– building damage due to natural disasters such as storms or earthquakes
– increased safety requirements (petrol stations, industrial plants with gases, animal husbandry)
– industry – machine emergency

Optionally, the fireman's switch can evaluate: the system status (on/off), the last event message, e.g. system shutdown due to power failure, tripped overvoltage protection, string current, temperature as well as arc detection and automatic shutdown (under development). The evaluation of the system status and the overvoltage protection is carried out via simple indicator lights, but can also be transmitted via data transfer (LoRA, WLAN, etc.) to a higher-level control system (e.g. fire alarm control panel).

Q3 products are developed and manufactured in Germany (Kaufbeuren, in the Allgäu region).
