The ENERGY FORUM in Bressanone, Italy, drives inspiration for architects and energy planners throughout the world. Over the last few years, the conference has made a name for itself as a cutting-edge event on Solar Building Skins. It is here that experts from around the world create their multidisciplinary networks in the field of sustainable building, here that architects and specialist planners meet important contacts in science and the construction and solar industries, and here that they get to the heart of the latest developments.

On 6 and 7 December 2012 it will once again be that time for the industry's Who’s Who to gather in the conference centre in Bressanone. Encompassing two action-packed days of over 60 presentations by speakers from more than 20 countries: this is the 7th ENERGY FORUM.

The program centers around eight core topics related to renewable energy technologies and green buildings, and presentations will illustrate how buildings can be planned and optimized for energy efficiency. The speakers will outline pioneering technologies for integrating photovoltaic and solar thermal energy into the building skin, with ground-breaking projects from several continents. The focus is not just on technological content and planning approaches, but also specifically on the oft-neglected economic aspects.

The first day will concentrate primarily on dynamic building envelopes and innovative materials and designs. One of the highlights is the topic of semi-transparent photovoltaics, with its enormous technological and economic potential.

The speakers will use projects from countries including Germany, Austria, Italy and Finland to examine performance and cost considerations as well as optimization strategies. On the second day of the conference, the focus will shift to the planning and implementation of solar buildings: from simulation and modeling through to the solar retrofitting of façades.

Exemplified by specific projects, solutions will be presented for issues such as static and thermal problems arising from the transformation of conventional façades into solar façades. Among experts in the construction industry, the ENERGY FORUM has become well-known as a driver for inspiration and has developed into an important meeting point.

The quality of the event is assured by the Economic Forum Munich and an international conference committee consisting of scientists from Europe, the U.S. and Japan. All presentations will be held in either English or Italian with simultaneous translation into both languages. ENERGY FORUM The ENERGY FORUM on Solar Building Skins takes place annually in Bressanone, Italy, where it has been based since 2006. The conference presents multidisciplinary planning approaches and aims to promote exchange among architects, engineers, scientists and manufacturers. The main objective is to reduce the energy consumption of buildings throughout the world while improving the comfort of building occupants.

The focus is on the latest developments in renewable energy technologies and their integration into the building skin with sophisticated architectural solutions. The fee for taking part in the ENERGY FORUM is €480, which includes the lunches and coffee breaks as well as the conference documentation. Participants who register online before 15 October will receive a 10% discount.
