S.A.G. Solarstrom increases PV power plant portfolio to 18.6 MWp

This extends the power plant portfolio to 74 systems with a total of 18.6 MWp. The project in Stribro has an excellent performance ratio of 84.9 percent, which was reached due to technical optimization during the planning and construction phases, so that the financed system is generating attractive earnings.

"We want to further strengthen our power plant park. On the one hand, an attractive portfolio for eco-power generation opens up long-term strategic opportunities for potential investors, which enable us to grow faster, while on the other hand, it gives us the opportunity to collect further data on the long-term performance of various systems," says Dr. Karl Kuhlmann, CEO of S.A.G. Solarstrom AG.

The 13.6 MWp system was installed in 2009 on a former military base in Stribro and was connected to grid at the end of 2009. The project, implemented together with a Czech joint venture partner, is financed on a long-term basis. By presorting the modules used, mismatch losses could be minimized and line and transformer losses limited, so that the performance ratio of the system is an excellent 84.9 percent. The whole system generates around 14,000 MWh of electricity per year, which can supply at least 3,000 four-person households.

"Even taking into account the solar tax that is currently being discussed but not yet decided upon by the Czech government, the system remains a highly interesting asset in the long-term," concluded Dr. Kuhlmann.
