The goals of the new machine concepts and process technologies are the increase in efficiency and the reduction of production costs for thin-film and silicon solar cells. The manufacturing processes, which are presented at the worldwide leading solar trade exhibition, achieve both goals by innovative, optimized coating technologies. Hence, Singulus is pursuing a clear future-oriented strategy to position itself as development partner and supplier of production systems worldwide at the top for the upcoming new growth for photovoltaics. With the new process and production technologies cell manufacturers are enabled to once again profitably manufacture solar cells at required market prices.
LINEA II Polish/Etch for wet-chemical polishing of cell rear sides
The new LINEA II Etch/Polish machine was especially developed for the wet-chemical polishing of rear sides – e.g. of PERC (Passivated Emitter and Rear Cell) cells before the rear-side passivation. A first machine was recently delivered. Production equipment for the integration into existing cell production lines will be presented at the 27th EU PVSEC.
SINGULAR for rear-side coating enables efficiency of up to 20 %
The dielectric passivation layer for cell rear sides can be applied in the further developed ICP-PECVD machine SINGULAR. The modular built and flexibility of the SINGULAR make it the optimum production equipment for the next-generation cells. Several machines are already in operation for the development of high-performance cells in research centers in Europe, North America and Asia. The focus of the development activities rests on the rear-side coating of PERC and heterojunction cells.
Upgrade package for PERC solar cells for the integration into existing cell production lines
Singulus presents a new production solution for PERC cells for the market of silicon solar cells. This solution under the product name of PERCEUS was developed especially for the upgrade of existing cell production lines. With the integration of these additional production steps into existing manufacturing lines PERC cells with levels of efficiency of up to 20 % can be achieved.
New vacuum evaporation machine for crystalline solar cells can replace silver paste
At the 27th EU PVSEC Singulus will also present a solution for the substitution of silver paste in the solar cell production. Here, high-performance vacuum evaporation machines for the metalization are used and replace the application of silver paste. Correspondingly, the costs for the production process of cells can be further reduced and at the same time the conductivity is further improved.
Vacuum sputtering machine for thin-film solar cells
Singulus offers new vacuum coating machines for thin-film solar cells. The new machines have the particular feature that it can be used for the vertical sputtering of glass substrates. Hence, Singulus develops a new work area in the sharply growing thin-film photovoltaics market and expands the offer of production equipment for the manufacturing of CIGS/CIS cells.
Vacuum evaporation machines an interesting process alternative for the manufacturing of thin-film solar cells
On the basis of the successful selenization machine CISARIS, Singulus developed an inline evaporation machine for the thermal coating of CIGS thin-film solar cells and offers a new line for an alternative process step with this.
Development of CIGS solar cells
Singulus offers systems for the development of CIGS/CIS solar cells with substrate size of 300 x 300 mm². With this modular machine innovative and large-scale implementable production processes for CIGSSe solar cells can be developed targeting the development of new coating combinations that significantly reduce production costs of thin-film photovoltaic modules and achieve highest module efficiency. Many research and development areas display the demand for such cost-efficient development tools.
