Solar Insurance and Finance (Solarif) has changed the policy terms and conditions of their Solar PV Insurance. To align to the customersÂ’ wishes Solarif decided to expand and improve the coverage of the Solar PV Insurance. The Solar PV Insurance is an All Risk cover for private and commercial photovoltaic installations. The insurance compensates damage caused by external causes such as fire, hail damage, lightning strike, overvoltage, vandalism or theft.
Besides that policyholders are insured against loss of production. Most important changes and improvements With the new policy terms and conditions the cover of the insurance has extended. In The Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg and Germany damage caused by external causes such as an earthquake, flood and windstorms with wind speeds above 119 kilometres per hour are covered. Also, Solarif has raised the daily rate of compensation in case of production loss.
A number of extended covers have been added. For example:
– The extra expenses to compensate for an incompatibility caused by unavoidable technical difference between existing and replaced equipment;
– The costs of removing and repositioning the photovoltaic installation, in case a repair to a damaged building or structure cannot be carried out due to the position of the installation;
– The costs of transporting the damaged solar panels to the nearest PV-Cycle collection point.
