Solar Panels UK has announced that it has launched two invaluable solar panel application tools a Solar Panel Suitability Checker and a Solar PV Calculator. APB Media Ltd has owned and operated the website since 2008 since which time thousands of customers have made enquiries via the site. The company also has a number of other price comparison websites.
The founder and CEO of APB Media Ltd, Andy Biggs, said: Solar Panels UK has been in operation for many years and is one of a group of several successful price comparison websites that we are proud to own.
The solar panel suitability checker application tool helps the customer, who is investigating the possibility of having solar panels installed on their roof or elsewhere, to establish how efficient the panels could be in capturing sunlight taking into account the direction the roof is facing or if any objects could get in the way of the light if the solar panels are installed in a different location. Furthermore, following a significant investment, this tool can also be accessed by people that are upwardly mobile using an iPad or iPhone and Google Maps technology.
Andy Briggs said:It is so quick and easy to use. Having downloaded the tool to be used on either an iPhone or iPad to their device, the customer simply has to press the ‘Use Current Location' button resulting in the suitability checker finding the property in question using the GPS program that has been built in. The other option is to manually key in the address of where the solar panels would be installed and to select the country using the drop down menu.
Andy Biggs added: Once the property or site has been identified and the satellite imagery utilised to fine tune things, the tool makes use of a performance graph overlay to work out the suitability of a specific area of the roof or site to help the customer identify the most solar efficient spot.
The application tool can be used anywhere in the world and is free of charge for those that use an iPad and iPhone.
Andy Biggs further commented: Lets take a brief look at the Solar PV Calculator. The majority of Solar PV Calculators take into account the number of solar panels, the roofs pitch and the preferred direction that the panels should be facing on the roof to capitalise on the energy produced by the sun thus enabling the return on investment (ROI) to be calculated. Ours, that is simple and quick to operate without any pressure from a salesperson, does a couple of other things it utilises the GPS co-ordinates to work out the average sun time at where the customers home is located and it highlights the best position to place the solar panels on the customers roof. This results in a much more accurate estimate of how much could be saved in energy over a period of 25 years this figure could vary by anything up to £5,500 in comparison with previous calculations.
We believe that both these tools will prove invaluable to the customer in helping them make the correct decision about the suitability or solar Panels Briggs concluded.
