John Lefebvre has left his position as President of Suntech America. As part of a new lean management structure, Suntech will no longer maintain the regional president position. Mr. McDaniel and other regional managing directors will report directly to CEO David King.
The Suntech team and I remain committed to helping our local customers succeed by providing high-value and reliable solar products and services, said Mr. McDaniel. Theres no question that the next six months will be a challenging time for all PV manufacturers, but Suntech has the right people and the right products to maintain our market leadership position.
Mr. McDaniel has vast experience in the U.S. photovoltaic market, and was most recently responsible for all of Suntechs sales and marketing for both large-scale PV power plants and the residential and commercial channels in the North and South American markets.
Prior to joining Suntech over two years ago, Mr. McDaniel was the Director of Performance Services for First Solars EPC division. In this role, he was responsible for all commissioning, monitoring and maintenance activities for First Solars utility PV power plant projects. Prior to that, Mr. McDaniel was the Vice President, Sales and Marketing, for SatCon Power Systems, a designer and manufacturer of power electronics for renewable energy applications.
