Together with Japanese partner Green Power Development Corporation of Japan (GPDCOJ), Sybac has acquired the two additional project rights from a Japanese developer. Both projects are located in Isahaya in Nagasaki Prefecture. With a specific irradiation yield of more than 1200 kWh per kWp, this region is one of the most preferred for profitable photovoltaic projects in Japan.
The projects rights will be jointly planned, built, and then offered as turnkey projects to interested investors. With a payment of 36 yen per kilowatt hour (about 27 euro cents), these projects provide an attractive investment.
"Projects with a connected load of less than two megawatts offer two advantages," explains Michael Rieber, CEO of SYBAC SOLAR JAPAN. "On one hand, the entire development process is simplified and accelerated, on the other hand the power supply is usually very timely possible, so that the entire reaction time to start-up is between three and eight months, which is very short for Japanese standards. In addition, many small and midsize businesses use this asset class as a tax-saving model, which simplifies the sale.
Daniel Ohletz, who works as a project manager on the current projects, adds, For us it is important to gather as much experience and country-specific know-how from small projects to be able to seamlessly tackle large projects with power ratings from 10 to 65 megawatts in the pipeline next year."
