The meeco Group and Packages: a long-lasting cooperation

Back in February, oursun Solar Power Ltd., part of The meeco Group started a promising partnership with Packages Limited to bring solar renewable energy to Pakistan. oursun Solar Power Ltd. is glad to announce that a first initial but crucial part of the project has been completed. The Power Purchase Agreement contract ties the two sides initially for a total capacity of 3 MWp sun2roof installations.

Last month, the first sun2roof photovoltaic installati on of 65 kWp has been implemented and connected allowing Packages to get access to clean energy. From now, onwards until the 1st quarter of 2014, the roll out of the remaining sun2roof units is foreseen.

Packages Limited was founded in 1956 as a joint venture between the Ali Group of Pakistan and Akerlund & Rausing of Sweden with the aim of converting paper into packaging for the consumer industry. Nowadays, Packages has become a major player and a pioneer in premium packaging solutions in Pakistan. The company has maintained strong relationships with its key customers for over 50 years, delivering always innovative, sustainable and superior quality products through its strong technological competence.

oursun Solar Power Ltd. as part of The meeco Group offers clean energy turnkey services and solutions via top-tier solar installations made in this case of photovoltaic (PV) panels and European inverters, fulfilling the meeco Group standards for its global projects. Syed Saad Zafar, CEO of oursun Solar Power Ltd., who has negotiated and executed this PPA with Packages Limited shares the following statement: “Packages gave us the chance to step into the Pakistani market for the first time with a project of industrial size and capabilities. In the near future, 3 MWp of industrial sized sun2roof PV installations will be added to produce clean, carbon free energy for Packages. The process has been already initiated. oursun Power Limited will engage all necessary efforts in providing this next phase with the installations of additional sun2roof capacity up to 250 kWp by the mid/end of October. The meeco Group is also determined to keep deepening this cooperation in the direction of a win-win relationship.
