The company also announced that its board has appointed Alex Dunn as interim CEO. Dunn currently serves as president for Vivint, Inc. and has been with the company for seven years.

“I have decided that it is time for me to step away from the day-to-day operations of the business,” said Serra. “I’m grateful to all of our customers, partners, investors and most of all employees for the support and commitment they have given to Vivint Solar. I remain committed to the company and look forward to continuing to serve in my advisory capacity.”

Vivint Solar was first introduced in October 2011. Since that time, the company has grown to more than 600 employees, expanded into six states with close to 6,000 customers, and is averaging more than 32 new installations each day. Vivint Solar is generating 4.5MW/month in just 20 months of operations. This exceptional growth quickly established the company as second largest solar installer and one of the fastest-growing residential solar providers in the U.S.

“Tanguy has helped us build an amazing business, and we are grateful for all of his hard work and dedication. Vivint Solar is what it is today because of his leadership,” said Alex Dunn. “We are committed to expanding upon the foundation that he has built, and believe our solar solution to be a critical component to helping our customers save money and gain energy independence.”
