Vivint Solar names Mark Trout as chief information officer

Vivint Solar, a leading residential solar provider, has announced that Mark Trout has joined the company as Chief Information Officer. Mark will be responsible for building a cloud-based information systems structure using the latest SaaS applications and development architectures. The new systems will be designed with an emphasis on mobile capabilities that can enable faster integration between the field sales, installation and support teams.

"We welcome Mark and his long-time Silicon Valley expertise in IT applications, development and deployment," said Dwain Kinghorn, Chief Strategy and Innovations Officer at Vivint Solar. "We believe cloud-based technologies will help us reduce our cost of operations and improve overall customer experience."

Mark joins Vivint Solar with experience as Chief Transformation Officer and Head of Product Development at eBay Enterprise. He also spent more than 20 years with Accenture as Managing Partner in Silicon Valley. Mark holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from Stanford University.

Vivint Solar is the second largest installer of solar energy systems to the U.S. residential market with approximately 16 percent market share in the third quarter of 2014, according to GTM Research. In 2014, the company established 23 new sales and installation offices to its 16 previously existing offices. The company plans to continue to expand in 2015.

Vivint Solar currently operates in Arizona, California, Hawaii, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York and Utah.
