Westpak announces expanded mechanical testing services to solar and renewable energy industries

Share

Within the last month Westpak brought into service a Horizontal Impact Test System (HITS) which simulates horizontal shock events frequently encountered in truck and rail shipments.

Leading firms have taken advantage of Westpak's test services during product design verification and R&D efforts, leading to substantial improvements in product reliability, robustness, and lower costs. Westpak's mechanical test capabilities also include custom test development and fixturing used for mechanical and cyclic load testing. "We are proud to bring many years of engineering experience in the areas of mechanical and environmental testing to the solar industry," says Mike Brown, Solar Division Manager.

These mechanical test capabilities complement Westpak's A2LA accreditation to IEC and UL test protocols for flat plate, thin film, and CPV solar technologies. "We believe what we bring to the industry is a special combination of mechanical and solar test capability that cannot be found at any other independent third party test laboratory anywhere!" adds Herb Schueneman, President and CEO.
