Senior representatives from both sides, including Xu Hailiang, Vice President of Smart Energy at TÜV SÜD, Zhao Kai, Technical Manager at TÜV SÜD, and Wu Yu, Vice President of WHES, attended the certification ceremony.
At the ceremony, Xu Hailiang, Vice President of Smart Energy at TÜV SÜD, remarked: “First of all, congratulations to WHES. VDE 4110 is a core technical standard for medium-voltage grid connection of generating units, developed by the Association for Electrical, Electronic & Information Technologies (VDE) in Germany. It is known for its high technical requirements and rigorous evaluation process and serves as a key passport to access the high-end energy markets in Europe and globally. This certification proves that the PowerCore system meets the highest international standards in terms of electrical safety and grid compatibility, showcasing WHES’ technical strength and laying a solid foundation for its expansion into the European market.”
Wu Yu, Vice President of WHES, stated: “Achieving VDE 4110 certification for PowerCore is an authoritative endorsement of our product’s safety, reliability, and grid connection performance. We look forward to deepening our cooperation with TÜV SÜD and jointly advancing the global clean energy transition.”
About PowerCore: A Flexible, Efficient, Safe, and Intelligent C&I Energy Storage Solution
The certified PowerCore system embodies WHES’ philosophy of flexibility on demand and the freedom to manage energy with confidence and calm. It features a modular design with 1–5 units scalable up to 1.25MW/2.5MWh to suit diverse storage needs. The modular AC/DC architecture supports three charge/discharge rates—0.5C, 0.25C, and 0.125C—making it adaptable to peak shaving, renewable smoothing, and self-consumption scenarios.
The system utilizes 306Ah long-life cells from CATL and a self-developed high-efficiency PCS, supports FFR (Fast Frequency Response), and delivers reactive/frequency response within 100ms with THD <3%, ensuring stable grid integration. It also meets UL 9540A requirements at the battery pack level and incorporates a five-dimensional safety framework encompassing prevention,
suppression, and response. The system operates reliably across -20°C to 55°C, features wall-mounted liquid cooling modules with low noise and easy maintenance, and is pre-wired in-factory for comprehensive user satisfaction in terms of efficiency, safety, and intelligence.
PowerCore integrates the self-developed AI control system, PANGU OS, which optimizes charge/discharge strategies based on real-time electricity prices, enhancing peak-valley arbitrage revenue and significantly reducing energy costs. It also supports load buffering and backup power integration and offers a wind-storage hybrid solution to smooth renewable power output.
