Wacker Chemie reaches agreement with Yingli over poly supply deals
If the German polysilicon manufacturer is the ‘Supplier A’ referred to in the Chinese panel maker’s annual report, Wacker has negotiated a near $33 million settlement from arbitration. As part of the settlement, Wacker will continue to supply its counterpart with poly up to 2028.
Yingli backs down in $9.5m unsettled notes case
The struggling Chinese manufacturer has withdrawn its appeal against a Chinese court decision it must repay medium term notes it failed to honor in 2015 and 2016. Yingli is struggling to stay afloat after a series of disastrous financial updates.
Yingli suffers Q1 revenue and shipment slump
The tier-1 Chinese solar company could only post $180m in revenue for the first quarter of the year, while module shipments of 370 MW were almost half the number shipped in Q4 2016. Cash position remains precarious despite staunching of heavy losses suffered last year.
