Bisol Group plans further expansion on back of high production growth

Slovenia-based Bisol Group has recorded a 130 percent increase in production of its photovoltaic modules over the last year. A spokesperson tells pv magazine it is planning further expansion, and will add new automation machinery in the coming months.

While many solar companies are struggling, Bisol Group has reported strong growth in its business, having more than doubled its production efforts in the first half of 2012, compared to 2011. According to a statement released, the majority of its output comprises mono- and poly-crystalline modules.

A spokesperson additionally tells pv magazine that the company is currently running at full capacity – 180 MW – after having ramped up production in Slovenia last autumn by 30 percent, due to increased customer demand.

They add that in order to further automate the production line, Bisol Group has ordered new equipment, which is expected to be installed in the coming months. This, they say, will help the company to increase its production capacity, and help improve both production yield and quality. They continue, "Besides the increase of the module production, we are also expanding our activities to other PV products, such as mounting structures, off-grid systems, display- and monitoring systems and also our own long-term investments in PV power plants."

Overall, Bisol Group is mainly active in the European solar markets, in the residential, and small to medium industrial photovoltaic sectors. "We have established a sales network that guarantees good local presence in our main markets. In this way we were able to support our customers in the best way and to keep in touch with the end-market. it is very important to respond as quickly as possible to our customers' needs," explains the spokesperson.

Headquartered in Slovenia, Bisol Group has local offices in France, the U.K., Germany and Italy, and a representative office in Belgium.

Responding to how the group has managed to stay so competitive, in such a cutthroat solar environment, they say, "Bisol Group has always followed a sustainable path. We avoid jumping into so-called lucrative new market segments, if it doesn't contribute to our sustainable growth strategy. We have always been very careful when selecting our target markets and projects and never jumped in high-risk markets or projects.

"We focus on the markets that require the best quality materials, that is residential house-holds and small to medium industrial projects. These are also the markets that turn out to be the most sustainable in the long term. Besides that Bisol Group also invests in its own PV power plants, not with the aim to win quick money and sell-off the investments as soon as possible, but with the aim to become a reliable supplier of green electricity.
