The 4 photovoltaic plants will be located in New Mexico.

The U.S.-based thin film photovoltaic company will provide EPC services to the 4 plants for PNM Resources, Inc. There is an option to extend the project to 22 MW.

It is hoped the plants will be completed by the end of next year. However, the New Mexico Public Regulation Commission still has to give its approval to the project, which is expected in Q4 2012. Up to 450 construction jobs should be created.

First Solar previously provided EPC services for 5 photovoltaic projects to PNM in 2011.
