Munro Solar completes one of Massachusetts' largest single solar arrays
15. June 2010 | Applications & Installations | By: Becky StuartOne of the largest single solar arrays in Massachusetts, the U.S. has been completed. The new installation is expected to save over USD$1.2 million in energy costs.
Munro Solar has announced the news, stating that the array will save client Dartmouth Building Supply (DBS) over USD$4,000 in energy costs each month. The company has said that in under five weeks, the corrugated roof of DBS's 54,000sqft millwork and warehouse building was transformed into a 201,600 DC watt solar powerhouse.
This is expected to save DBS over USD$1.2 million dollars in energy costs over the 25 year life of the system, says Munro Solar, while offsetting 3,933 tons of carbon dioxide from entering the atmosphere.
The array is comprised of 960 Suntech panels, two Solectria inverters, and a UniRac SolarMount racking system
Commenting, DBS president Joseph Delgado said: "We are proud to be at the forefront of sustainable technology with one of the Southcoast’s largest photovoltaic systems."
