Share

The market was a weak one last year and despite the challenges, Suntech has expanded market share in the past year and again broke the gigawatt barrier after the 2010 boom year. Vedat Guergeli, Vice President Sales and Marketing for Suntech Europe, states, "This milestone of one gigawatt of annual sales in Europe reflects Suntech´s strong market position and established value-added reseller (VAR) network throughout Europe.

The company views this as a result of its successful brand building measures and the growing trust of partners and clients in the Suntech product quality, reliability and the local presence with well established partner relationships.

Additionally, the company also received third-party certifications for compliance for ISO 14001 and SA 8000. Suntech issued its first global Sustanability Report in 2011. The company sees its commitment to sustainability as another key differentiation factor and success driver. Last year, Suntech also celebrated its tenth anniversary as the first PV manufacturer to achieve five GW of solar installations by customers worldwide. Suntech aims to pass the ten gigawatt milestone in the next two years.
