In our inaugural edition of pv magazine LIVE, we take a look at some of the big themes at this year's Solar Power International trade show, including the speech by U.S. Vice President Joe Biden, new funding for solar from the U.S. Department of Energy and the boom and impending crash in the U.S. utility-scale market.

We also take a look at some of the hot technologies that were on display at SPI, including REC Solar's Twin Peak series modules, LG's Neoen 2 PV modules with wire mesh interconnection technology, and HD Wave, a new inverter topology and series from SolarEdge which dramatically decreases the weight and size of inverters.
