Tanzanian power utility Tanesco wants to build solar plants across six regions. Successful projects will range from 20 MW to 50 MW in size and the tender has been launched as the nation tries to ramp up solar’s share of its energy mix.

Italian stock exchange suspends trading of Enertronica shares

The Italian developer and largest shareholder of inverter maker Elettronica Santerno, said on Friday it would delay its financial results for the first half. Its statement also revealed the loss of a contract to build a 120 MW solar plant in Spain and a $5 million loss linked to another project in the US.

EDP secures 15-year PPA for 199 MW PV project in Brazil

The company’s renewable energy unit EDPR will sell power to an unnamed client from a solar plant to be located in Ferreira Barreto, in the Brazilian state of Sao Paulo. The Portuguese utility and wind power specialist began making investments in solar in recent times.

Turkey to launch 1 GW PV tender in January

Strong local content requirements may be embedded in the tender, according to the first draft of its rules, with selected projects required to rely on a 60% quota of modules made in Turkey. A 30 MW/ 90 MWh (AC) storage project will also be included at one of the three sites identified for the tender.

Akuo plans France’s largest floating solar plant

The 17 MW installation, to be located in the southern region of Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, is expected to begin commercial operations in March.
