All eyes are drawn to China every year for SNEC, the world’s biggest solar PV expo, as it invariably features a large number of new products from the key Chinese manufacturers. Vincent Shaw was on the scene in Shanghai this year and took the opportunity to take the industry’s pulse.
Although few international visitors were able to attend SNEC 2021, the exhibition brought in more than 220,000 visitors to the Shanghai New Exhibition Center, where more than 2,000 exhibitors filled the bustling show floor. As always, the SNEC exhibition was packed with new product launches. On the module side, several manufacturers revealed their first steps into n-type technology, while the move to larger wafer formats and high-powered PV modules continued at pace.
