New Jersey: Tioga Energy starts work on 44 solar projects

Tioga Energy has begun development on 44 solar projects in New Jersey, worth 3.4 megawatts (MW). The systems are being installed at facilities owned by local government agencies in the state’s Union County.

Germany: SolarWorld opens 600 MW PV module factory

SolarWorld AG has opened Germany’s largest photovoltaic module manufacturing facility. The capacity expansion takes the company’s annual production from 170 megawatts (MW) to 600. Over 250 extra jobs are also expected to be created.

SDG&E and Soitec sign CPV contracts worth 125 MW

San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) and subsidiaries of Soitec Solar Development, LLC have signed two 25-year solar contracts worth a total of 125 megawatts (MW) to be generated in the utility’s service territory.

Work begins on 11 MWp German PV park

IBC Solar has officially begun construction on an over 11 megawatt peak (MWp) photovoltaics park in the German state of Mecklenburg-West Pomerania. Scheduled for completion in August, it is expected to be one of the largest installations in the region.

Solon to build large scale UK PV park

Solon has started construction on a 408 kilowatt photovoltaic park in the UK. It is expected to be one of the few large-scale solar parks built before the proposed feed-in tariff changes come into play in August.
