The photovoltaic system, which will have been entirely designed and installed by KRAFTWERK in just 7-8 weeks, spreads across 18,000 m2 of roof space. The buildings were previously used by the National People’s Army (NDV) of former East Germany and now serve as a large warehouse and distribution center. KRAFTWERK secured the project rights. A private investor will own the PV plant.

Karsten Schulte, Managing Director of KRAFTWERK states, “This is the largest rooftop system we have designed so far. We looked forward to the challenge and have proven to ourselves once again that we can deliver premium service on short notice. Now we are eager to begin construction.”

Construction of the 3.3 MWp solar power plant commences on September 7th, 2015 and will be completed in October. The generated solar power will be marketed directly.
