British-German manufacturer Sun lnvention presents Plug & Save solar system

Plug & Save Solar Systems contain state-of-the-art PV-modules with either 195, 250 or 300 watts- Controller, lithium battery and micro-inverter are all integral parts of the product.

The pioneer of easy to install, flexible, intelligent energy supply solutions, Sun Invention, now globally offers its groundbreaking Plug & Save Solar Systems for the decentralized generation of energy.

The game-changing system is designed as a “Plug & Play” assembly which can be plugged directly into the household grid and already integrates a battery, a controller and a micro-inverter. The system enables house-owners e.g. in the USA, India or Spain to regain a certain energy autonomy by installing a Plug & Save System on their garage, in the garden or the backyard. Even tenants, regardless whether they live in Germany, the UK or Greece, now have the possibility to use their balconies or patios to install one or more Plug & Save Systems and profit from having their own “balcony power plant”.

In the solar industry the Plug & Play solar systems are considered to be true game-changers, as less costs for installation and maintenance occur. These matters of expense have a remarkable impact on the total cost of classical rooftop PV-systems, where manufacturing and delivery are only reflected in the budget with a third of the final price.

Due to their easy installation, the flexible options for application and the decentralized energy generation and storage Plug & Play systems will in perspective contribute immensely to the realization of smart girds and virtual power plants. It has been apparent since the London-based photovoltaics company Sun Invention was present at the Boston Cleantech Venture Day (in April 2013) that the company has been recognized as an important player in this innovative segment of the PV-market.

Installing and using the Plug & Save solar system is very easy, as it comes with comprehensive instructions and can be installed without the help of a technician; the micro-inverter and the in-house developed controller are applied on the reverse side of the system and shielded by a protective plate, making it inaccessible for the user.

The Plug and Save systems are delivered with or without lithium-ion battery. A classical Plug & Save system comprises three modules without battery (Plug & Save Light+) or three modules with a battery (Plug & Save Optimus+) and costs roughly 4.500 EUR / 6.000 USD. The implementation enables an average household in Germany or the USA to reduce their costs for electricity by one quarter. Users with a low consumption of energy consequentially save even more.

Each Plug & Save system is manufactured in accordance with German quality and safety standards (defined by the Technical Inspection Association TÜV Süd) in Germany and China. The internationally renowned PV-manufacturer ALGATEC Solar AG is in charge of the Germany-based production of the Plug & Save modules.
