Primarily for applications where the positive (+) or negative (-) output of the PV system is directly grounded, it allows the system builder to reduce the number of SPDs required since only one two- module unit would be required on the side that is not connected to ground, reducing inventory and investment.
It has a two-step DC switching device and features the companys own easyID local visual indicator technology in which green and red visual indicator flags show module protective status (green = good, red = replace). The device can also be used with optional remote contact signalling (floating changeover contact).
The unit is prewired and consists of a base and locking modules that feature a combined disconnection and short-circuiting (shunting) device with safe electrical isolation that stops DC arcs to help prevent fire damage. It is fitted with an integrated DC fuse so that modules can be replaced in safety without causing an arc to form.
This complete surge protection device is suitable for all PV systems in accordance with UL 1449 3rd Edition and IEC 60364-7-712. Ends.
