Cooper Bussmann to introduce smart combiner box at Intersolar Europe

Share

Cooper Bussmann is enhancing its suite of products for the protection

of photovoltaic (PV) systems with the first European showing of its new

combiner box range.

Developed for system builders and operators, the new combiner box offers

protection, switching and monitoring of system arrays in a custom-built

package. The company will have a ‘live' demonstration of the unit on its

stand to show its full functionality which includes active monitoring of

string current, system voltage, enclosure and external temperature, surge

protection device status and switch status.

Alongside the new combiner box Cooper Bussmann will be featuring its new

range of compact PV NH fuses. Available in three sizes – 200A, 400A and 630A

– the line up is rated at 1000Vdc.

With IEC, UL, VDE and CCC approvals, the entire line permits designers to

create systems that are globally accepted. Designed specifically to protect

inverters and isolate PV array combiner boxes and disconnects, these high

performance fuses are capable of interrupting low overcurrents associated

with faulted PV systems, such as reverse current and multi-array faults.

The PV NH fuses, with their compact dimensions and low power loss,

provide simple and cost effective project design and installation, which is

further enhanced thanks to their compatibility with existing NH fuse bases.

The dual indication feature allows for speedy identification of faulted

circuits and rapid replacement of the operated fuse.

Cooper Bussmann will also be exhibiting its new 1500Vdc fuse bases for use

with its XL Style, square bodied fuse links including its highest rated fuse

at 1500Vdc of 400A. This is the highest single voltage rating ever achieved

by a fuse manufacturer in this package size, and represents a significant

breakthrough in fuse design and performance.
