The law rewards operators with a 10 percent increase to their feed-in tariff if at least 60 percent of the components in their solar systems measured against investment costs (excluding labour) and following independent confirmation have been manufactured in Europe (member states of the European Union and the European Economic Area).
Sunways solar modules of the Eco-Line fulfil these criteria, i.e. Sunways customers in Italy can take advantage of the improved feed-in tariff.
TÜV Rheinland recently certified Sunways Solar Modules SM240U and SM245M as "Made in Europe": the highly efficient crystalline solar cells used in our modules are manufactured at Sunways Production GmbH, our very own production site in Arnstadt, Germany.
The mounting of these solar cells into Sunways Solar Modules is the only part of the production process that takes place offsite on behalf of the company and according to Sunways quality criteria.
As to Sunways Solar Inverters, product design, assembly and quality testing also take place in European production facilities. To profit from the higher feed-in tariff, the only thing Sunways customers in Italy need to do: bring their new solar system into commission by December 2012 at latest; in the case of larger systems, some additional criteria have to be met.
