A team of experienced specialists from ISC Konstanz has assisted Suniva in the optimization process of its new 1GW PERC production lines at its existing Norcross, Georgia, campus. PERC is particularly suitable for the U.S. market as it relies on proven, highly efficient technology to maximize production output, which is critical in supporting the United States’ resurgent module manufacturing sector and the overwhelming demand for domestic content in the country’s home markets.
ISC Konstanz has led production formula optimization adapting process recipes to local conditions, and ultimately achieving rapid growth in product efficiency levels and production throughput—key factors for economic viability.
Suniva has found the relationship to be highly productive in scaling this critical domestic capacity. “The evolving U.S. regulatory landscape places extreme importance on the need for domestically-produced solar cells,” says Suniva President Matt Card, “Our partnership with ISC Konstanz provides Suniva with an exceptional pool of expertise that is allowing us to respond rapidly to the market need”.
This project is especially meaningful for ISC Konstanz, as a high percentage of production equipment comes from German manufacturers. “We take pride in saying: A clean energy transition, made in Germany/Baden-Württemberg!” says Lejo Joseph, head of ISC team.
