On April 11, 2025, energy stakeholders and guests from across the region gathered to celebrate a remarkable achievement in Germany’s renewable energy landscape: the commissioning of Bavaria’s largest photovoltaic carport, boasting a total capacity of 9,541.70 kWp.

The project, developed and realized by Energiepark Ulm, stands as a beacon of innovation and efficiency. From groundbreaking to grid connection, the project was completed in just 12 months—a timeline that included the planning and construction of the carport, installation of the PV modules, and final grid integration.

Central to the project's success was the collaboration between several key players:

· SAYTEC GmbH: Carport structural engineering

· srs-solar roof systems: PV component distribution

· alb-elektric Huber GmbH: Cable infrastructure

· Huayao PV: Module manufacturing

· Deutsche Fundamentbaugesellschaft: Ground screw foundations

Among them, Huayao PV played a critical role by supplying high-performance photovoltaic modules tailored specifically for large-scale applications. The company's advanced technology—particularly its solutions optimized for overhead installations—ensured both aesthetic integration and long-term durability. As demand grows for multifunctional PV infrastructures, Huayao continues to emerge as a strategic player in the European solar market.

The site of the installation, Allgäu Skyline Park, served as both host and partner in the project. Together with regional energy provider LEW, the collaboration ensured a smooth approval and grid integration process, highlighting what’s possible when private investment and utility companies work hand in hand.

The carport project has since been handed over to a group of private investors, marking a new chapter in decentralized energy production in Bavaria. With solar parking structures gaining popularity across Europe, this project serves as a blueprint for what can be achieved when vision, engineering, and collaboration come together.
