Frankfurt, Germany, June 13, 2014 the leading European manufacturer of solar photovoltaic (PV) products, today announced that the company has successfully launched its next generation solar module at Intersolar Munich last week.
In collaboration with its technology partner, Meyer Burger AG, RECOM is the first company to offer solar modules with a ground-breaking cell connection technology, which employs a foil-wire electrode instead of the typical ribbon connectors. This new advancement will revolutionize the industry as it guarantees no micro-cracks, up to 5% power increase, 70% less use of silver and up to 10% more energy yield without increasing the module price.
We are thrilled to be the first manufacturer to innovate on the module level as opposed to the cell level, said Laert Tunyan, Chief Executive Officer of RECOM. PV is at the cusp of grid parity globally with incremental improvements happening across the value chain. This innovation will move us one step closer to that reality, added Tunyan.
