Geosol, a company specializing in the development, financing and building of turnkey solar power plants, chose the AURORA ULTRA-1050.0-TL central inverter to convert the electricity produced by a 1.01 MWp rooftop installation located on a logistics center. Located in Hannover, Germany, the PV plant deploys an ULTRA inverter unit produced in Power-Ones Italian Valdarno production facility. Geosol rented the roof from owner Goodman European Logistics Fund (GELF) for 20 years and will also be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the installation.
More than 4,100 polycrystalline modules have been deployed in Hannovers largest rooftop PV installation. On 30,000 m² it will generate approximately 950 MWh of electricity per year which will be fed into the local grid. This equals the energy consumption of 270 two person households with a yearly consumption of 3,400 KWh.
When we designed the plant, it was very important for us to choose components that guarantee a maximum uptime, said Markus Rödel, Senior Project Manager Plant Construction at Geosol. This was one of the reasons why we chose the AURORA ULTRA system. With regards to the deadlines for the plant connection to the grid, the short delivery time Power-One offered was also an important advantage for us.

Thanks to the AURORA ULTRAs IP65 enclosure with passive liquid cooling and a total segregation of the internal compartments, the installers were free to choose the best location for the inverter system without having to consider any constraints. Therefore, the compact lightweight single cabinet assembling the unit could easily be installed on a free space next to the logistics center.
