The solar industry has a difficult inasmuch varied year behind it. The transfer of production to low cost countries and the amendment of the Renewable Energies Act, together with the related discussions about feed-in tariffs have led to much uncertainty. On the other hand, the newly ignited debate about an energy transition has brought about fresh perspectives for the solar industry, and falling module prices have had the effect of increasing plant profitability even in the face of declining feed-in tariffs.
At the 12th Solarpraxis Forum, being held on 17 and 18 November in Berlin, international experts will examine the future of the solar industry and give their opinion on the German and international solar markets.
This year's Forum Solarpraxis will begin by posing the provocative question "Solar energy – The energy of the future or financial ruin?" This will be followed by a discussion between analysts and market researchers as to whether the German solar industry is still competitive. In another forum the CEOs from a number of companies including Phoenix Solar, Q-Cells, SMA Solar Technology and First Solar will assess the future of the photovoltaic industry.
Taking a look over the horizon, the situation in other European countries as well as incentive programmes and instruments for the worldwide development of solar markets will be examined.
The Forum Solarpraxis has established itself as a renowned meeting place with good opportunities for professional exchange and networking.
