The election of the new TPVIA board took place during the associations general conference on Friday, August 5.
As the trade groups new head, Hong will help photovoltaic companies – especially those in the downstream segment – expand in the global market. He will also work to secure more assistance from the Taiwan government to promote domestic PV installations, and build a platform on which member companies can communicate effectively and leverage each others resources.
According to Hong, more countries in the world are focusing on renewable energy development, in which photovoltaics plays an important role. In many areas power generated by solar photovoltaic has reached grid-parity, a trend that will become more widespread in the future and underscores the growth potential for photovoltaic companies.
As head of TPVIA, Hong will work with the board members to strengthen Taiwans photovoltaic industry, building on the success achieved by their predecessors.
