The new module is now being certified and will be on the market by the spring of 2012, but it is already capturing all the attention at the Milan event.

The 60 high efficiency cells (18.8?19.2 percent) are assembled using a host of innovative solutions developed by Silfab's experienced technical team.

Research and developement have been focused on new materials, in order to improve the module's efficiency by a better handling of the cells' efficiency.

Amohg these are a new front glass antiriflective layer which allows more sunlight to reach the cells iside the module, and an improved optical trasmittance of the encapsulant (EVA).

ELA 250/255 P “mono?like” – The new frontier of Multicrystalline

Silfab's new 60 cells module ELA 250/255 P is a top level policrystalline solution in terms of quality and efficiency. The use of an innovative 3 bus?bar “mono?like” cell allows the module to offer a power output of 255 Wp, and a module conversion efficiency of 15.6 percent.

Thanks to an innovative ingot growth process these cells reach an 18.5 percent conversion efficiency. They are thus comparable to a monocrystalline cell (hence their name: “mono?like”), not only because of the electical performance, but also in terms of quality of the wafer, which presents a lower degree of impurities and defects.

The new ELA 250/255 P module is the result of Silfab's technical team 30 year experience along the entire photovoltaic value chain, which is confirmed by an expected 40 year lifetime of Silfab's products.

The effect of an only positive tolerance of nominal power (from 0 to 5W) is to minimize mismatch losses in the strings and achieve the maximum electrical performance of the PV system. The use of selective emitter solar cells allows an enhanced energy production at low wavelenghts.

Compared to the typical market warranty, Silfab's linear warranty, results in a +6.7 percent increase of energy produced over 25 years.

Reduced weight and overall dimensions (19 Kg – 1650x990x38mm) are coupled with high level mechanical features, including resistance to hail, wind and snow. All stages of production are subject to strict quality control procedures and all components of the module are built from high quality raw materials. Silfab's high quality materials include antireflective and tempered front glass, encapsulant, backsheet, anodized alluminum frame, and electrical devices.

ELA 240/255 P is certified as European product and features the following product certifications: IEC 61215 Ed 2, IEC 61730, product traceability.
