Todays solar installations must be better and cheaper than ever. But what this "better" actually means in practice is open to debate. Clearly defined quality standards are lacking all along the value chain. The aim of the workshop "Quality for Photovoltaics" is to shed some light on the discussions about quality and promote a professional dialogue between the solar industrys various market participants. The event will take place on 6 September 2012 in Berlin.
The strength of this event, always concentrating on current practice, will lie in its balanced consideration of the different perspectives of all those involved. After a presentation on the status quo for quality assurance in photovoltaic projects, the issues involved in the various stages of project implementations will be brought under the spotlight. Project engineers, representatives from banks, manufacturers and system builders will talk about their experiences.
In this context, the bank representatives will explain what they need to see in terms of quality standards and assurances for the financing of PV projects. Certifications, warranty models and tests are other topics that the conference will address. An important element of the event will be diverse examples from actual practice that will be presented to illustrate the discussions.
The speakers at the workshop will include Willi Vaaßen of TÜV, Matthias Jäger (Allianz Climate Solutions) and Dr Jürgen Arp (PV Lab Germany). Between 100 and 150 participants are expected. These will include those from module manufacturers, suppliers, system integrators, distributors, project developers and designers as well as representatives from installation companies, banks, insurers, law firms, consultancies and testing laboratories.
The conference language will be German with simultaneous translation into English.
