SolarMax Aims to Drive More Deliveries for Riverside Meals on Wheels

Leaders at Riverside Meals on Wheels are supercharged about a new fundraising partnership with Inland Empire renewable energy leader SolarMax Technology that has the power to increase the number of healthy, nutritious meals the charity can deliver to housebound seniors and disabled individuals. Their immediate goal: To raise $25,000 – not to mention the spirits of those who depend on those deliveries each day.

The Power of Giving program focuses on generating solar referrals from Riverside Meal of Wheels supporters, including donors, sponsors, volunteers, and advocates. For each referral that goes solar with SolarMax, the company will give $500 – to both the referrer as well as Meals on Wheels.

Even better, there’s no limits on the number of referrals a supporter can provide. Individuals can also refer themselves to earn the reward, in addition to generating a $500 cash gift for the charity. The catch? None really, other than the special program ends June 15. All eligible referrals must be under contract at that time.

SolarMax is known for its popular and highly successful referral reward programs, which have introduced thousands of Southern California homeowners to the economic and environmental benefits of clean, green solar power. The decision to adapt the program for a charity like Meals on Wheels fits with the company’s deep-seated community service culture.

“Our incentive programs remain popular, because they produce a win-win outcome,” said SolarMax Executive Vice President Ching Liu. “Bringing a nonprofit into the equation, however, creates a reward that can’t be measured exclusively in financial terms. We’re thrilled to come along side of Meals on Wheels and help them increase the reach and social impact of their amazing work.”

Meals on Wheels Executive Director Janice Bielman said, “Despite the fact that we’ve been serving the Riverside area for 44 years, there are still folks who are just now discovering us. One of things they respect and appreciate is that we don’t discriminate based on age or income, and that we rely exclusively on private donations to fund our deliveries. That’s why having a respected community partner like SolarMax means so much. The collaboration symbolizes what we tell our volunteer drivers every day: Together, we can deliver.”
