Stockholm Design Lab is proud to announce its design partnership with Alight, and the work in developing the holistic visual identity for the successful company previously known as Eneo Solutions. The new brand and the visual identity is launched this week. As Swedish solar energy scaleup Eneo Solutions were preparing to expand their business into Europe, it became clear it wasn’t possible to buy the rights to the name Eneo Solutions and that the brand needed a touch-up. The choice was made to make a complete makeover to ensure that both the name and brand identity would mirror the thought leading company they are today in Sweden – and will become internationally.
Alight is a purpose-driven company specialized in creating complete solutions for solar energy for large corporations. The customers sign long term Power Purchase Agreements where Alight finances, builds and operates the solar installations to generate green, sustainable and cost-efficient energy for the customer. Some of Alight’s customers are Swedbank, Toyota, Alecta and Nordic Choice Hotels.
The strategic and holistic design work has included creation of the visual identity and touch-points to simplify and adapt to today’s and tomorrow’s customer needs. The new brand identity focuses on a professional approach that elevates Alight’s expertise within the industry, where functionality and simple communication aims to provide the tools and foundation to reach the companies of tomorrow and the future.
SDL has worked very closely with Alight to craft the right strategic direction and scope the identity needs. As well as a new website and social media assets, design focus was also brought to internal tools, helping to optimise the productivity within the organisation.
“We chose to partner with SDL because of their proven track record to create solid future-proofed brand platforms”, says Harald Överholm, CEO at Alight. “It’s been a joy to learn from each other throughout this process, and we’re very proud of the results – a strong brand foundation that stands out, is applicable internationally and appeals to corporations interested in solar”.
After developing a brand platform together with Alight, a creative concept was formed around, and rooted in, the purpose of the company ’to accelerate the transition to solar.’ This then created visual cues that anchored the applications and design details, providing flexibility yet the opportunity to develop the brand further over time and through various communication channels. The idea of Photovoltaics, (the conversion of light into electricity), was also utilised for the image language, and this will be further developed in the coming months.
The identity helps to illustrate the brand of a progressive company that is professional, trusted and easy to work with, a leader within the field of solar energy that clearly differentiates from its competitors and provides the right platform in making the complex simple, helping companies and society to reap the benefits in making the switch to solar.
Stockholm Design Lab has worked in close collaboration with Alight to develop the new brand identity, which has resulted in a simple and effective solution, positioning Alight as a trusted leader within the PPA sector.
”It has been a fantastic opportunity to work with a progressive company such as Alight, creating the future within the solar and sustainable energy industry. It is clear that there is a more purposeful driven focus, and the outcome creates both positive changes for Alight as a business but also has the potential to impact society longer term in the transition to green energy”, says Björn Kusoffsky, CEO & founder at Stockholm Design Lab.
