Terna, the leading network operator in Europe and among the biggest in the world with more than 72,000 km of lines managed in Italy, is aiming to seize the business opportunities coming from technological innovation and the transition taking place in the energy sector.

With 334 MW installed, RTR is the largest Italian consolidator of photovoltaics, the biggest independent operator in the country and has the greatest presence widespread in the territory. In fact, it owns 134 plants of varying sizes, distributed in over one hundred municipalities from Friuli to Sicily.
“The agreement is the result of a shared vision for the prospects of development and optimal management of photovoltaics in Italy, which are truly entering a new era” said Ingmar Wilhelm, Chairman and CEO of RTR. “We are very happy with the level or professionalism, the quality of the service and the attention paid to the security offered by Terna as part of the Operations & Maintenance of our plants. It is for that reason that we are very happy to continue this important partnership with Terna which among other things will allow us to be very flexible in taking on new projects together” Wilhelm concluded.

“We are pleased renewing the collaboration with RTR, the operator that grew around the major photovoltaic development projects started by Terna a few years ago” said Luigi Ferraris, Terna CEO and General Manager. “This initiative is also part of our plan to guide the development of renewable energy and promote its complete integration into the electricity system”.

The deal will come into force once certain precedent conditions are fulfilled.
