The project is the result of a partnership with the Facens Research Institute (IP Facens), supported by the electrical engineering program and the Sustainability Committee at Facens, located in Sorocaba.

The center is located on the university campus and will be used for technical training, applied research, and visits from students, professionals, and clients in the sector. The facility includes Trinasolar latest photovoltaic technologies, including Vanguard 1P solar trackers and Vertex N modules.

The space will be used to offer in-person technical courses aimed at installers, integrators, EPC professionals, developers, and engineers. The focus will be on hands-on, market-oriented training, with access to current equipment and technologies used in solar energy generation.

According to Álvaro García-Maltrás, President of Trinasolar for Latin America and the Caribbean, the initiative aims to bridge the gap between industry and academia. The company also plans to expand its presence in the country by fostering technical qualification and collaborating with educational and research institutions.

Patrícia Klahr, Chancellor of Facens University Center, states that the collaboration contributes to the development of professionals focused on the renewable energy sector. Heverton Bacca, coordinator of the electrical engineering program, adds that the center will give students access to equipment and operational data, allowing them to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world situations.

The center’s installation in Sorocaba, a city near São Paulo, aims to facilitate logistics for training activities and broaden access for professionals in the sector.
