It was the worst weather in fifty years, but a Dickensian winter of despair yielded a spring of hope with GOLDBECK SOLAR successfully constructing and connecting three ground-mounted solar plants to the grid with a total capacity of 19.4 MWp in the United Kingdom.
Included in the pipeline is the companys largest project to date, an 8.3 MWp plant located in Somerset. Additionally and with construction schedules running parallel, GOLDBECK realized a 4.6 MWp project in Wales and a 6.5 MWp project in Devon.
Hazel Capital, a London-based investment company with a focus on renewable energy, partnered with GOLDBECK in the organization, financing and implementation of the projects. Installation works occurred between January and March 2013. All plants were built with de-centralized inverters with final grid connection occurring before the 31st of March and ahead of a reduction in the compensation available through the applicable Renewable Obligation scheme. GOLDBECK Solar GmbH concluded the financial year very successfully.
In addition to ground-mounted plants in Germany and in the UK, commercial roof-top plants in Germany contributed to the positive result. The turnover of more than 70 million Euros and the profit have exceeded GOLDBECKs forecast. CEO Joachim Goldbeck: UK will stay a highly interesting market for us next to our main markets in Germany and Italy, where we are engaged with our Joint Venture MAGNETTI GOLDBECK. We will keep growing also our personnel, which we are very happy about in times where other companies in the solar industry are more likely contracting.
