Oman to launch support scheme for small-sized PV

The Middle Eastern country is planning to support the installation of rooftop PV systems ranging in size from 2 kW to 4 kW. The support scheme will not be based on FITs or net metering, but on an “accelerated subsidy adjustment” mechanism.

Bahrain to introduce net metering policy for PV

The Middle Eastern country is now preparing to introduce a net metering scheme for decentralized renewable and solar energy projects under its National Renewable Energy Action Plan (NREAP).

Lebanon approves plan to install 180 MW of solar

Lebanon has approved a plan to promote the development of solar and renewable energy in the country. The plan aims at deploying 180 MW of PV capacity by 2020. The first auction for utility-scale solar projects was launched in mid-February.
