The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority said the solar generation capacity is expected to come online in the second quarter of 2021. The tender will constitute the fifth phase of the mammoth 5 GW Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park.
Overall, 64 companies have expressed interest in building the next 900 MW phase of the huge Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park. The first section of this part of the park is scheduled for completion in the second quarter of 2021.
Construction on phase II of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park is now finalized. The 200 MW unit of the 1 GW solar park came online a month ahead of schedule. DEWA revealed the plant was built at a cost of 1.2 billion AED ($326.7 million).
