Flanders to reintroduce subsidies for rooftop PV

Four years after the expiration of green certificates for PV systems up to 10 kW, the authorities in Belgium’s Flanders region want to support solar again – but this time in the form or rebates. A new scheme will likely go into force in 2021, with up to €1,500 to be awarded per PV system.

Sweden allocates $80 million for solar rebates in 2019

The sum devoted to the rebate scheme was increased by another $32.4 million on top of what the government had previously allocated. The percentage covering the costs for buying and installing a PV system will be lowered from 30% to 20%, which may result in a higher number of installations and larger growth volumes.

Romania launches rebate scheme to support solar under net metering

Romanian Parliament approves net metering scheme for solar

The new rules may help the Eastern European country resume its solar development after two years of very limited growth. Only PV and renewable energy systems not exceeding 100 kW in size will be allowed to enter the scheme.

Ontario earmarks $70 million for solar, storage rebates

Under the GreenON’s Solar Rebates Program, homeowners will be able to install solar-plus-storage systems with a capacity of up to 10 kW, while businesses will be entitled to deploy up to 500 kW of rooftop PV capacity.

Sweden allocates additional funds for solar rebates

A further 200 million SEK will be allocated for 2017, while another 525 million SEK will be provided in 2018. The funds will be used to support residential and commercial rooftop solar.

Slovenia launches solar rebate scheme

The Slovenian government has earmarked €3 million to finance solar rebates in 2017. The funds will cover 20% of the costs for buying and installing a PV system under net metering.
