After upturning residential and C&I storage leaderboards in Australia, the UK, and European markets, Sigenergy is now entering the utility-scale segment.

The Shanghai-based manufacturer is confident its capitalisation, immense manufacturing capacity and strong leadership will enable it to disrupt this historically static segment. Preparing for utility-scale equipment to become its leading market, Sigenergy plans to roll out integrated hardware to cover the full PV ecosystem from power electronics, including inverters, through to storage and software. The company’s vision is not to deal in components, but to offer to a full one-stop-shop of grid-ready solutions.

Sigenergy advance into this complex and high-stakes segment comes off the back of significant successes since its launch in 2022. Sigenergy has already become a top residential battery brand in Australia, and a major inverter player in the home of early adopters. According to consultancy Frost & Sullivan, Sigenergy achieved the highest global market share for stackable distributed energy systems (DESS) in 2024 (Q1–Q3).

This expertise in battery storage makes Sigenergy a particularly alluring entrant into the utility-scale segment, in which hybridisation is rapidly becoming a market requirement in both Australia and Europe – key target markets for the company.
