The battery storage industry is accumulating more operational data than ever, but are teams actually turning that data into decisions? This pv magazine webinar, produced in partnership with TWAICE, puts that question to the test, drawing on the findings of the 2026 BESS Pros Survey to offer a peer-benchmarked view of how grid-scale BESS organisations are really operating today.
The session will unpack what operators, owners, and O&M teams say about their day-to-day realities: where time is being lost, which challenges are most critical, and how the industry is closing the gap between raw data and actionable insight, while also struggling to reach that point.
TWAICE’s Manuel Scheibel, who leads Sales & Solution Engineering and works with IPPs, developers, and utilities across gigawatt-scale portfolios, will walk through survey findings on the friction that makes operations harder: fragmented dashboards, the absence of a single source of truth, organisational disruption, cost constraints, and the ongoing difficulty of holding suppliers accountable to performance promises.
The discussion will also examine what’s eating the most time across BESS teams, and as part of that conversation and keeping the session real-world focused, joining the conversation will be Konstantin Fellner, Head of BESS Asset Operations at BayWa r.e., who oversees asset management, technical operations, and maintenance of BESS across EMEA, and brings a practitioner’s perspective on what the survey findings mean on the ground.
The session will close with a forward-looking discussion on what the market is prioritizing heading into the year ahead.
Plus, our usual live Q&A will be open and extended, with an emphasis on inviting audience discussion with our experts.
