Denmark’s biggest PV installation realized

February 2012 | Applications & Installations, Industry & Suppliers | By: Becky StuartGermany-based SRU Solar AG and Danish energy company GreenGo Energy have completed a 605 kilowatt peak rooftop photovoltaic system in the Danish town of Virum. It is said to be the biggest project of its kind in the country.
The system, owned by SEB Ejendomme I A/S, an investment company for commercial and industrial properties, is located across two roofs of an office complex and has been connected to the grid since January. It is comprised of 2,800 photovoltaic modules, supplied by Canadian Solar, and inverters from Danfoss A/S.
"The successful completion of this solar project, in cooperation with GreenGo Energy, is an important first step for developing the Danish market," commented Matthias Schönhardt, member of the SRU Solar board, and project leader.
The two companies say they will complete further photovoltaic projects in Denmark. This year, they have a planned pipeline worth 7.2 megawatts. A spokesperson for SRU could not disclose any further details.
